Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
  • 3 years experience in assembly operations/manufacturing.
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Eligibility requirements

  • Expert understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation.
  • Ability to use Microsoft applications to analyze data (i.e. – Word, Excel, Oracle, etc.)
  • Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools (crimpers, soldering iron, wire strippers, brazing equipment, etc.) and measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, rulers, etc)
  • Ability and willingness to operate high temperature ovens and furnaces
  • Ability and willingness to pass Visual Acuity Exam as necessary.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain Solder and Braze certification as required

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Assemble parts according to process sheet/print instructions.
  • Perform electrical, mechanical, magnetic testing as required (i.e. – dielectric, meggar, hipot, AC/DC, ATP, etc.)
  • Perform basic set up of fixtures; Perform vapor blasting as required
  • Perform inventory counts and verification
  • Assist with proto-type or first time builds with guidance from higher level employees.
  • Assist Engineering and/or Team in development and/or improvement of layout procedures and process sheets.
  • Review expiration date of materials to ensure materials & equipment to ensure all are current.
  • Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products; Good housekeeping skills
  • Frequently interact with internal and/or external customers and support functions (i.e. – Planners, Engineering) outside of home department.  May act as primary contact for auditors.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and recommend part maintenance. Report problems to appropriate resource and/or Coach
  • Assist with labor & material quoting;
  • Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures
  • Other duties as required by department; Participate in and lead team initiatives.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Assembly knowledge of multiple product lines; 3-5 years experience in assembly operations
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Communication skills; Ability to work proactively with limited supervision

The pay for this position is $21/hour. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on 3/24/24.
