JOB TITLE: Assembly Technician

Contract Length: 12 months (with potential extension)

Qualifying Questions:

Summary:
Inspect and align parts under a microscope before and after soldering.
Identify and correct solder defects, including voids, bridges, shorts, and misalignments.
Operate Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment to detect real vs. false defects.
Read and follow assembly instructions and identify standard SMT components.
Perform rework using hot air pencils, hot plates, and BGA removal tools (ERSA or similar).
Solder and secure jumper wires on redesign boards (preferred).
Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with potential overtime.
Maintain focus on detailed, repetitive tasks while seated for extended periods.
Requirements:
IPC-610 and IPC J-STD-001 Certification (active or expired).
6+ years of soldering experience, including IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD.
Strong experience with SMT soldering and rework techniques.
