Per Diem: $150/day for 7 days a Week!
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Assembly Mechanic with 5–10+ years of aviation experience, including extensive work with heavy structures and skin changes. This role involves performing complex assembly, rework, and structural modifications to fuselage panels, bulkheads, and other aircraft components. An A&P license is not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect, and complete precision and structural system components from drawings, documents, and process specifications.
- Perform a variety of operations to assemble major structural assemblies such as fuselage panels, bulkheads, and subassemblies per engineering specifications.
- Conduct heavy structure and skin change work, including:
- Stabilizing and balancing jack systems and cradles before skin changes.
- Removing and replacing skins and MRB items that don’t meet engineering drawings.
- Converting detailed skin/structure into engineering configuration via match drilling.
- Troubleshooting major structural repairs and replacing necessary components.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
- Verify part dimensions using mechanical and electronic measurement tools; document and correct programming or tooling issues.
- Utilize hand and power tools to drill, seal, insert fasteners, countersink, paint, varnish, and assemble structures.
- Perform non-standard and rework operations as required; typically not assigned to bar line or standard in-process work.
- Ensure compliance with FAA, OSHA, safety protocols, and internal quality standards.
- Routinely move products within the immediate manufacturing area using shop-assigned equipment and complete necessary transactions.
- Support continuous product flow by training and assisting coworkers as needed.
- Perform minor machine maintenance (e.g., replacing filters, maintaining lubrication/coolant levels).
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Cross-train in inspection and become SIA qualified.
