The Back Shop Mechanic will provide essential support to the back shop operations of an aircrafts final assembly line, focusing on maintaining, repairing, and servicing critical equipment such as motors, pumps, engines, hydraulics and other mechanical systems. This role is pivotal in ensuring operational efficiency and minimizing downtime for the assembly line through expert diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities:

Equipment Maintenance and Repair:

• Inspect, maintain, and repair a variety of equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems, motors, and pumps.

• Replace defective components and perform system overhauls to maintain production efficiency.

Preventive Maintenance:

• Conduct scheduled maintenance to prevent equipment breakdowns and ensure consistent operational readiness.

• Lubricate, clean, and adjust machinery components as needed.

Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:

• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and implement corrective actions for mechanical or hydraulic systems.

• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to address complex equipment challenges.

Fabrication and Assembly Support:

• Assist in fabricating, modifying, or assembling equipment and tools required for the production process.

• Ensure all tools and machinery are properly calibrated and aligned with production specifications.

Documentation and Recordkeeping:

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.

• Provide detailed reports on recurring issues and propose solutions to improve reliability.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in motors, pumps, engines, and hydraulic systems.

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

• Relevant technical certifications or training are preferred.

• Experience with APU’s is an advantage.

• This role requires a proactive problem-solver with excellent technical expertise to support the high demands of aircraft production.
