About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated individual who can work well under pressure to meet demanding deadlines with little or no supervision to fill the position of Chief Inspector. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aircraft inspection activities ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and established quality standards by supervising a team of inspectors. The Chief Inspector reports to Vice President of Maintenance. This position is based at Bridger Aerospace HQ in Belgrade, MT and is full-time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of aircraft inspectors, assigning tasks and ensuring proper training and competency.
- Oversee the daily inspection operations and prioritize tasks.
- Manage maintenance documentation.
- Make critical decisions regarding aircraft airworthiness to maintain safe operations.
- Develop and implement inspection procedures.
- Monitor maintenance quality, ensuring proper documentation of all inspection findings.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable FAA regulations, manufacturer’s maintenance manuals, and internal quality standards.
- Review and approve maintenance documentation, including work orders, logbooks, and inspection reports.
- Conduct audits and spot checks to verify compliance with procedures and regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Current Airframe & Powerplant certificate required. Current FAA Inspection Authorization preferred
- Extensive experience in aircraft maintenance inspection
- Strong understanding of FAA regulations and industry standards
- Must have a detailed understanding of FAA regulations including 14 CFR Part (s): 21, 39, 43, 47, 91, 135, and 145 as well as FAA Inspector guidance such as FAA Orders applicable to Repair Stations
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Leadership and supervisory experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High school diploma or equivalent with 3 or more years of commercial single and/or multi-engine turboprop airplane maintenance experience required; 14 CFR Part 25 aircraft experience is a plus
- Must have the ability to read, interpret, and apply various technical data such as aircraft specifications, aircraft maintenance, structural repair manuals, and instructions for continued airworthiness
- Must have the ability to successfully complete aircraft and engine manufacturer initial and recurrent maintenance training
- Strong ability to be to define problems and to present information, concepts, and potential solutions to technical and non-technical personnel
- Must provide reliable transportation and be able to lift 75 pounds
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and preferably, WinAir products
