Position Responsibilities
* Ideal candidate will be responsible for the inspection, repair, fabrication, and maintenance of composite components used in aircraft structures. The technician applies specialized techniques to assess damage, execute precision repairs, and maintain safety and reliability in aviation operations. Basic Qualifications(Required Skills/Experience)
*High School Diploma or GED equivalent
*Have a minimum of 2 years of recent composite experience in an aircraft, automotive, or similar environment is preferred
*Must be able to use close tolerance measuring tools (i.e., scales, micrometers, calipers, depth gages, etc.).
*Must be able to use hand tools (i.e., drill motors, die grinders, rivet guns, fastener installation tools, etc.).
*Must have the ability to perform alignment/assembly using jigs, templates, and fixtures.
*PPE must be used when cutting, grinding, blending, and sanding
*Extensive use of bagging materials
*Must be able to properly bag for a wide range of component shapes and styles.
*Capable of using a “Hot-Bonder” type machine cure procedure.
*Must be able to read basic blueprints
*Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language
*Must have own tools
*Must have no known allergy to epoxy agents and have the ability to become certified to wear a respirator Job Duties
*Fabricate and assemble composite parts in accordance with current technical data and procedures.
*Perform tool preparation, lamination, vacuum bagging, oven operation and finishing
*Rout, drill, trim, and sand composite parts according to drawing dimensions and tolerances
*Handle and store all materials appropriately per product specifications.
*Operate a variety of hand tools and power tools
*Maintain a clean job site Physical Requirements
*Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb all-day
*Ability to frequently lift and move items weighing over 50 lbs.
