Job Description:

Performs intermediate technical work performing maintenance and repairs on EMS helicopter, and related work as apparent or assigned.  Work is performed under the limited supervision of the EMS Aircraft Maintenance Director.  

Applicants are required to live within 1 hour of the MedFlight Hangar.

The schedule for this position is 7 days on/7 days off. 

  • Maintains helicopter in a state of EMS readiness; performs scheduled maintenance and inspections in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and manufacturer's guidelines for engine, airframe, and avionics. 
  • Inspect, test, diagnose, maintain, and repair helicopters including structural, mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems. 
  • Determines the airworthiness of the helicopter and inspects maintenance documents. 
  • Maintains aircraft records, logbooks, and documentation. 
  • Updates computer maintenance/inventory tracking software. 
  • Maintains parts inventory, orders, and receives parts/supplies. 
  • Provides technical guidance to others. 
  • Attends company training events as directed. 
  • Drive and operate assigned motor vehicles and equipment. 
  • Performs housecleaning of hangar/station. 
  • Performs other assigned duties.
Job Requirements:
  • Thorough knowledge of the methods, tools, and equipment used in the repair of aircraft. 
  • Thorough knowledge of and skill in the use and operation of shop tools and machinery. 
  • Thorough knowledge of safe work practices. 
  • Ability to detect by inspection any worn or broken aviation parts. 
  • Ability to adapt available tools and repair parts to specific repair problems. 
  • Ability to interpret and work from sketches, diagrams, and installation and repair charts. 
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately. 
  • Ability to prepare and file simple written reports. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and vendors.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of personal decorum and professional conduct.
  • Ability to perform all job duties in a safe manner, following all standard operating procedures.  
  • Provide exceptional customer service skills and abilities.

Education, Experience and Supplemental Information:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Considerable experience (2 to 5 years related experience and/or training) in helicopter maintenance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant License.
  • Ability to successfully pass a comprehensive company, FAA, and DOT-required pre-employment screening, criminal background check, drug test, motor vehicle driving record, PRIA records check, Office of Inspector General List of Excluded Individuals, and National Sex Offender Public Website registry.
  • Factory airframe/power plant schools preferred.
  • FAR 135 operations experience preferred.
  • Subject to drug and/or alcohol testing per the DOT/FAA requirements (pre-employment, random, reasonable cause/suspicion, and post-accident).
  • Applicants are required to live within 1 hour of the MedFlight Hangar.

Salary Range: 70,347.00-91,451.00
Travel: Live within 1 hour of hangar
