Overview





Job Summary

An Electrical Mechanical Assembly Technician 2 is responsible to interpret blueprint drawings, electrical schematics, work instructions, and technical specifications for the fabrication and assembly of complex aircraft products. They need to have a working knowledge of assembly techniques, tooling, and company procedures to perform critical operations. Drilling, measuring, cutting, riveting, installing, and tightening fasteners to defined torque specifications, and Installations of wires and electrical components into electrical modules and assemblies per engineering drawings and specifications. Perform electrical continuity checks, operational tests per engineering and manufacturers instructions.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Assembles Mechanical and Sheet Metal Products using engineering drawings and sketches for aircraft and ground vehicles
  • Install wires and electrical components into electrical modules and assemblies per engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Review completed work and ensure that the final assemblies and details are protected from damage
  • Check drawings for accuracy and applicability for assigned tasks and advises lead and/or supervisor of deficiencies
  • Perform electrical continuity checks, operational tests, and acceptance test procedures per engineering and manufacturers instructions on harnesses and wired components.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and modify electrical components and assemblies per manufacturers instructions, engineering schematics and accepted industry practices.
  • Record work progress, certifications, completion and testing on various production documents per company standards and established procedures.
  • Maintain shop and work area cleanliness.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two or more years related Electronics/Avionics experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Formal soldering training or demonstrates acceptable performance.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment
  • Experience in use of sheet metal related shop equipment

Skills

  • Terminate and crimp wiring
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting
  • Soldering
  • Ability to read and understand Wiring Diagrams
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings
  • Ability to apply fundamental concepts and knowledge of assembly skills and their application.
  • Dependable and self-motivated
  • Ability to manage several projects concurrently
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge/experience

  • FAA Airframe Mechanic Certificate or FCC preferred

Pay Range





USD $47,075.00 - USD $68,175.00 /Yr.
