Installation Technician - Travel position located in Vista, CAJob Description- The Installation Technician will be responsible for installing and commissioning Mid-Energy Portals (MEP), Low Energy Portals (LEP), IP6500 Vehicle and Cargo Inspection Systems (VACIS), Exploranium, and Radiation Portal Monitor (RPM) systems.
- The role requires isolating equipment start-up malfunctions and taking corrective actions, performing technical support on various products, and maintaining tools and test equipment properly.
Responsibilities- Install and commission Mid-Energy Portals (MEP) and Low Energy Portals (LEP), IP6500 Vehicle and Cargo Inspection Systems (VACIS), and Exploranium, Radiation Portal Monitor (RPM) systems.
- Isolate equipment start-up malfunctions and take corrective actions.
- Provide technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems, subsystems, and software at customer and/or factory locations.
- Work on equipment with little or no documentation or training.
- Meet weekly project installation goals within required deadlines.
- Support Engineering activities during Factory Acceptance testing.
- Ensure tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve success during installations.
- Maintain clear and concise business communication proficiency, both oral and written.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time.
- Perform ad-hoc and predetermined work assignments with instructions.
- Maintain effective customer communications and relations.
- Multi-task, work accurately, and pay attention to detail in a Field Service environment.
- Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, system manuals, and technical directives for troubleshooting purposes.
Essential Skills- 4+ years of relatable experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems using a wiring diagram/schematic.
- Ability to read and follow assembly documents.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Working knowledge of Windows applications and software navigation.
- Ability to work outdoors and in all types of weather conditions.
Work Environment- Work will be based out of our Vista location, assisting in day-to-day system assembly to gain product knowledge.
- Travel is expected to be 3 weeks on the road and 1 week in the Vista location each month.
- When in the field, work can take place at border crossings, ports of entry in the US, requiring 75 travel time.
- Workdays and hours may vary based on the project, and overtime should be expected. Flexibility is key in this role.
Job Type & Location- This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vista, California.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00
