The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Equipment Maintenance Specialist to join our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team, supporting aviation maintenance for the Air Combat Electronic Attack (ACEA) Program at Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Amberley, Queensland.
As the Equipment Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for supervising and maintaining Ground Support Equipment (GSE) systems and servicing requirements. This will include undertaking maintenance activities in support of Product Support Training & Maintenance (PST&M), Amberley Maintenance Repair Organisation (MRO) this may include modification, maintenance, coordination of calibration requirements and generic tool store activities in support of the maintenance teams.
The role may require international travel during the initial stages of employment with a return back to RAAF Base Amberley to complete on job training.
Responsibilities:
- Provide GSE maintenance support to the ACEA MRO Services team
- Repair, refurbish or replace defective components and perform corrective maintenance activities as required to restore operational availability of equipment
- Perform GSE and tooling monitoring to ensure scheduled maintenance and calibration activities IAW approved processes and procedures
- Perform corrosion and routine inspections of plant equipment including shipping containers IAW approved processes and procedures
- Implement continuous improvement by monitoring the conditioning and operational performance of GSE, plant equipment and tooling, collecting technical data and evaluating maintenance procedures
- Use of support equipment asset management systems
- Promoting a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring compliance with EH&S policies and procedures
Experience / Qualifications
- Hold an Australian trade level Certificate in a mechanical or GSE discipline
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to work in a diverse team environment
- Ability to work independently
- Physical capacity to undertake manual labour, ability to work at heights and outdoors
- Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to WH&S and Quality Assurance
- Experience in basic computer use, including Microsoft Office applications
- Hold a C class drivers licence
- Desirable certifications and licences: heavy vehicle drivers licence, forklift licence, high risk work licence, air conditioning / HVAC
- Desirable experience in support equipment asset management systems
Security Clearance
You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a government security clearance (Negative Vetting 1) sponsored by BDA. Therefore, you must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and must have the ability to verify your background for whole of life i.e. birth to present time.
