Job Title: F-18 Flight Ops Mechanic - San Antonio, TXHiring now for Flight Ops General Mechanics and Fuel Techs in San Antonio, TX. We are anticipating Avionics and Structures openings later this year - applicants with these skillsets are also welcomed to apply.
- A&P License not required, but preferred for higher pay tier ($40/hour)
- Must be open to 2nd shift.
Essential Skills- Flight control Removal/Installation and rigging
- CDI or CDQAR Inspector certifications
- Landing gear Removal/Installation and functional checks
- Turn Qualified – High / Low
- Hydraulic component Removal/Installation
- Depot Disassembly/Rebuilds
- Ground Support equipment
Responsibilities- Perform maintenance operations on aircraft, equipment, engines, components, and systems.
- Adhere to DOD, manufacturer, company, and supplier directives.
- Carry out Airframe & Powerplant repairs, including potential Fuel Cell work.
- Work as a Ramp Mechanic, Flight Line Mechanic, and Flight Operations Mechanic.
- Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, and test procedures.
- Set up and use pneumatic tools such as screw guns, and torque wrenches.
- Use common hand tools including wrenches and safety wire pliers.
- Remove and replace panels, floorboards, insulation, and sealing compounds using mechanical fasteners.
- Familiarity with large aircraft and components such as air-frame and power-plant.
- Remove, replace, and check out aircraft components and assemblies.
- Effectively communicate orally and in writing with other employees and supervisors.
- Document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, and parts requests.
- Perform duties while wearing required safety equipment.
- Perform duties on all shifts regardless of weather or physical conditions.
- Order parts, tools, materials, and equipment as needed.
- Comply with all health and safety, tool control, contract, and facility regulations.
- Perform other duties as directed by supervision and management.

Work Environment- Military hangar, open-bay (non-climate controlled) environment. 1st Shift: M-F 5:30am-2:30pm, 2nd Shift: M-F 2pm-10:30pm.
