WHAT WERE DOING

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Operations Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the mechanical systems on-site, including HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical equipment. In this role, you will provide maintenance engineering support, assist with procedures and inspections, and address air flow and indoor air quality issues.

THE WORK

As a Facilities Operations Mechanical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
• Mechanical Equipment: Monitor the function, maintenance, and efficiency of all mechanical systems on site, including HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical equipment.
• Maintenance Engineering: Assist with locating hard-to-find parts and designing new adapters or mounts for custom configurations.
• Condenser Water Quality: Oversee the condenser water quality of the two central utility plants on a daily basis, using reports from Premier Water Systems.
• Inspection: Conduct annual inspections of HVAC equipment, issuing work orders for necessary repairs and corrections.
• Air Flow: Investigate air flow deficiencies, leaking ducts, and other related issues above suspended ceilings.
• Indoor Air Quality (IAQ): Work closely with the Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) team to address and resolve indoor air quality concerns, implementing corrective actions as required.
• Predesign: Perform heat load calculations, determine placements for cooling units, and route and size ducts and piping for optimal system performance.
• Draft Statements of Work (SOWs): Write detailed SOWs to ensure project goals are met, in alignment with Facility Design Standards.
• Property Inventory: Perform an annual property inventory, ensuring accurate documentation of assets.

This position is located in Orlando, FL and and is can work from home 25 of the time.

Basic Qualifications:
• U.S. Citizenship: You must be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for this position.
• Education: You must have a Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with 7+ years professional experience or have 10+ years of related field experience.
• Experience: You must have a minimum of 7+ years of experience in a facilities operations or maintenance role, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment.
•Engineering Design: be able to participate in the design of mechanical systems and provide statements of work for desired mechanical work.
• Root Cause Analysis: You must have experience with root cause analysis (RCA), failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and reliability modeling techniques.
• Engineering Tools and Software: You must be proficient in engineering tools and software, such as Microsoft Office, CAD, and data analysis applications.
Desired Skills:
• Problem-Solving and Communication Skills: You must have excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, and be able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional Certifications: Possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license, Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) certification, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Facilities Management Professional (FMP), or other professional facilities-related certification.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with regulatory requirements, such as OSHA, EPA, and NFPA standards, is essential for ensuring compliance and safety in the facilities environment.
• Communication Skills: Good communication skills, both written and oral, are critical for effectively presenting to internal and external customers within Lockheed Martin.
• Self-Starter: A self-starter with the ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision is essential for this role.
• Continuous Improvement Methodologies: Experience with Lean Six Sigma, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), or other continuous improvement methodologies is highly valued for driving efficiency and effectiveness in facilities operations.
• Interpersonal Skills: Possessing excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with senior management, employees, and customers, and interface with various departments is critical for building strong relationships and achieving success in this role.
• Adaptability: Possessing strong adaptability skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities, is beneficial for success in this role.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use digital measuring devices is a plus, but not essential for this role.
• CMMS Administration: experience with CMMS administration, including IBM Maximo and/or Tririga.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
