GSE Mechanic - Heavy Vehicles

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Identify mechanical problems.
2. Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined.
3. Perform basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, giving tune-ups, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires Repair or replace worn parts, such as brake pads and wheel bearings.
   Performs monthly GSE inspections to ensure equipment, buildings and grounds are maintained in excellent condition.
4. Disassemble and reassemble parts.
5. Tire repair (Light and heavy equipment) Hydraulic equipment repairs.

REQUIREMENTS

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Ability to complete all paperwork to a high standard,
3. Experience in servicing, repair or maintenance of materials handling equipment (MHE), construction plant agricultural machinery or powered access equipment (MEWP), or Forklift trucks.
4. A background in GSE/MHE.
5. GSE / Motor Mechanics Engineering City & Guilds (or equivalent).
6. Knowledge of automotive, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and components.
7. Excellent customer service skills
8. High Gross Vehicle (HGV) Class 1 Licence (DESIRABLE)
9. 1 years HGV maintenance experience (DESIRABLE)
10. Confidentiality and strong attention to detail and follow-through is required.
11. Position requires shift workdays, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
12. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, 5-year background check, 10-year criminal history check and security threat assessment.

THE AUTOMOTIVE AND HEAVY TRUCKS MECHANIC WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
GROUND SUPPORT EQUIPMENT:
Aircraft ground support equipment encompasses all equipment required to carry out aircraft maintenance activities and to support flying operations. This equipment typically includes ground power units, hydraulic rigs, and aircraft loading devices. It also includes a wide range of small engine equipment such as refueling equipment, hydraulic rigs and hoists. As a member of the GSE team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of this specialized equipment.

VEHICLE MAINTENANCE:
Repair and maintain of all specialist vehicles. You will be involved in the daily maintenance, fault identification and rectification of a wide range of vehicles, with special emphasis on heavy vehicles such as forklift trucks and aircraft tugs.
