We are seeking experienced Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanics and a Site Supervisor to support Intermediate-Level (I-Level) maintenance on F404-GE-400/402 and F414-GE-400 engines, module repair, and GSE maintenance at Fleet Readiness Center Mid-Atlantic (FRCMA) Oceana.
Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic (23380)
Wage: $36.07 per hour
Additional Benefits: $5.36 per hour for health & welfare (can be used for medical expenses/health benefits; unused funds roll over into a 401k at year-end).
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair Ground Support Equipment (GSE) malfunctions.
- Train and advise lower-grade workers on complex repair/maintenance issues.
- Inspect and approve completed maintenance actions.
- Interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical publications to solve repair problems.
- Use automated maintenance data systems to track trends, analyze requirements, and document maintenance actions.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on structural, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, oil, air, and power plant systems of GSE.
- Conduct inspections, tests, and operations to verify GSE serviceability.
- Service equipment with fuel, oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air.
- Diagnose mechanical and electronic circuitry issues using meters, oscilloscopes, testers, and hand tools.
- Remove, repair, clean, treat for corrosion, reassemble, and reinstall GSE components.
- Ensure compliance with hazardous material handling and environmental regulations.
- Maintain and update paper and electronic equipment records.
- Provide dispatch services for GSE, including positioning equipment for aircraft maintenance operations.
- Follow strict tool control, Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention, and safety regulations.
Site Supervisor
WAGE: Negotiable
The Site Supervisor will oversee GSE maintenance operations, ensuring compliance with NAMP, safety, and maintenance programs while managing personnel and daily workflow.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee scheduled and unscheduled GSE maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with maintenance control, material readiness, and calibration programs.
- Supervise personnel performing inspections, troubleshooting, preservation, and modifications.
- Ensure adherence to Naval Aviation Maintenance Discrepancy Reporting (NAMDRP) and audit programs.
- Maintain logs, records, and reports for GSE operations.
- Implement and enforce FOD prevention, tool control, hazardous materials handling, and safety protocols.
- Train and supervise maintenance personnel to meet or exceed government contract requirements.
Requirements (Both Positions):
- Experience with aircraft support equipment maintenance and repair.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance publications.
- Ability to use a wide range of diagnostic tools, meters, and repair equipment.
- Knowledge of government maintenance programs such as Fuel Surveillance, Hydraulic Contamination Control, Tire & Wheel Safety, Tool Control, Corrosion Prevention, and more.
- Ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- Tools will be provided.
