Job Description
A well-established Business Aviation MRO East of Atlanta, GA, has been in operation for over 50 years, supporting an extensive range of aircraft models, including renowned brands such as Falcon, Hawker, Challenger, Learjet, Gulfstream, and Embraer. With a significant expansion underway, the facility is doubling its footprint in the coming year. Specializing in Business/Corporate Aviation, the facility focuses on 22 models of aircraft on the Airframe side, while the Engine Shop performs comprehensive overhauls on Honeywell HTF7000 and TFE731 engines, APUs, and diagnostics in state-of-the-art Test Cells.
The Gulfstream Crew Chief is responsible for troubleshooting aircraft discrepancies and implementing corrective action. This role ensures the quality of maintenance work and turnaround time while supervising a crew of technicians and/or shop personnel in maintaining Gulfstream corporate aircraft. The Crew Chief ensures maintenance is accomplished successfully, outdates are met, and customers are satisfied.
What to Expect in This Role:- Supervise a crew of technicians in the performance of aircraft maintenance.
- Assign work based on scheduled outdates and employee technical expertise.
- Provide technical guidance on aircraft maintenance configurations, service bulletins, directives, and enhancements.
- Monitor hours charged to jobs to control costs and meet outdates.
- Review workbooks for sign-offs and parts issues before closing in the inspection department.
- Perform a final “walk-around” to ensure aircraft cleanliness and readiness for departure.
- Ensure that crew members are well-trained on assigned aircraft and schedule periodic technical training.
- Perform hands-on maintenance as needed to support on-time departures and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Actively work to simplify processes for efficiency, ease of work performance, quality, and turnaround time.
Basic Qualifications:- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an A&P Mechanic performing scheduled maintenance on Gulfstream aircraft.
- At least 2 years of leadership experience working as a Lead Mechanic, Crew Chief, or Supervisor for Gulfstream aircraft.
- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certifications.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications:- A minimum of seven (7) years of experience as an A&P Mechanic working with Gulfstream aircraft.
- Previous experience working in an MRO or Service Center environment.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with customers, company leadership, and engineering teams.
- G450 / G550 airframe experience.
