Gem Air is a small air-service provider based in Salmon, Idaho; our rural mountain town offers easy, out-your-backdoor access to rafting, fishing, mountain biking, hunting, skiing and more. You’ll need to like the reality of living in a small mountain town to really like this position.
We are looking for an Assistant DOM with A&P and IA (or be ready to get their IA). Our ideal candidate has significant professional experience with piston aircraft and turbo-props, leadership experience, and familiarity with part 135 regulations. Our ideal candidate is also comfortable with computer work and paperwork required by the company and regulations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (but aren't limited to):
- Under the direction of the DOM, organize and manage mechanics and maintenance for our part 135 operation in order to keep our airplanes airworthy and available for flight
- Assist with accuracy and upkeep of digital maintenance tracking systems.
- Assist with performance reviews, coaching, and training of mechanics.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and inspections, run-ups and taxis, and clean aircraft after completing maintenance
- Use, implement, and improve systems to keep the shop running efficiently and effectively
- Help ensure that all aircraft and maintenance area facilities are in compliance with all FAA, OSHA, industry and company guidelines, and are kept in a clean and orderly condition.
- Comply with 14 CFR (as applicable), manufacturer’s specifications, company policies and procedures, as well as other methods accepted by the FAA.
- Fully understand the policies and procedures contained in company manuals, make suggestions for improvement when applicable.
- Assist with additional tasks and duties as they may be assigned.
