Location: Rapid City, SD - (relocation assistance is available)

The Lead Field Service Technician is responsible for responding to and resolving complex service calls, providing technical support and troubleshooting to Honeywell customers. This position will also involve additional responsibilities related to the technical delivery of small service jobs, time and work material, and preventive maintenance. The customers served will have various products installed in the HVAC, automation controls, life safety, fire, and security systems category, as well as their associated computer systems. Level 3 Technicians will be expected to coach and mentor more junior technicians. The primary goal of this role is to ensure system uptime and efficiency, with a specific focus on fire alarm systems.

Responsibilities

  • Independently troubleshoot and repair complex issues  
  • Program more than one system 
  • Perform system back-ups and install appropriate updates and patches 
  • Run one-off problems, scenarios, and integrations based on the needs of the customer 
  • Program fire control panels
  • Understand and apply knowledge of virtual machines, system imaging, and networking to serve the needs of the customers           
  • Complete required documentation for work performed or other contractual obligations  
  • Proper use of safety personal protection equipment 
  • Security and other clearances as required by customer 

Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of fire alarm experience OR HVAC automation experience
  • Field installation/service experience 
  • Completed preventative maintenance on systems internally or externally 
  • Ability to work independently 75 of the time 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Valid Drivers License and driving record acceptable to Honeywell 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fire alarm experience
  • NICET I Certification
  • Previous industry experience (military)
  • Previous technical/installation experience
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Good written and oral communication
  • Ability to follow instructions and identify mistakes
  • Bachelors degree or technical/professional certificate
  • Good presentation skills
