Job Description:
Lead Technician Role and Responsibilities
 
  • Assigning work as required to ensure an on time delivery for AAS Repair Station and airworthy aircraft, article/product for the customer
  • Carrying out all assigned duties on aircraft, line operations and shop work necessary and required to maintain aircraft in a safe and airworthy condition in conformance to standards set forth in the FAA Code of Federal Regulations (14CFR) and manufacturer's maintenance manuals
  • Recording all data on forms, reports, and inspections tags, and bringing to the attention of the Lead Inspector or Chief Inspector any irregularities in the standard practices used that could cause injury to personnel or make the aircraft un-airworthy 
  • Ensuring that all overhauls, checks and repairs are carried out in accordance with procedures as required in the applicable manuals and FAA Code of Federal Regulations (14CFR)
  • Ensure FAA approved data is used for all repairs and rework on aircraft and components
  • Ensures EO, AD, SB, etc. are accomplished per applicable technical data
  • Ensuring that a high standard of wokmanship is maintained and inform the inspection supervisor or Chief Inspector of faulty equipment and poor housekeeping practices that could make an unsafe work area
  • Signing or stamping completed serviceable tag attached to all parts and units that he/she finds serviceable and ensuring that the form is completed correctly and accurately
  • Reviewing entries in time tracking system for accuracy in job cards and attendance, reviewing employee performance and providing feedback as needed, ensuring company policies and procedures including proper use of PPE, Adhering TSA/SAA Badge guidelines, Reporting injuries/accidents and other duties as directed/assigned by management
  • Order parts as required to correct and complete Non-routine and Routine jobs to ensure all parts are needed on list 
  • Verifies all parts on order list against open Non-Routine and Routine jobs, to ensure all parts needed are on list Request special support equipment/tooling to accomplish Routine/Non-Routine tasks
  • Supervising his/her Department
  • Coordinating work priorities
Job Requirements:
  • A&P Certification REQUIRED 
  • Minimum 5 years of heavy and/or line maintenance experience
  • Ability to read, write, and understand the English language
  • Must understand and follow maintenance manuals and IPCs
  • Experience with MD80, DC9, B737 preferred
