Job Description SummaryThe Defense & Systems ATO Mechanical Section provides engineering support across all Defense & Systems propulsion programs in the technical areas of High Cycle fatigue (Aeromechanics), Engine Dynamics, Engine Clearances and Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs). Our scope ranges from conceptual design to experimental testing to modeling and analysis to NPI design to field support. The Lean and Operations Leader will partner with technical and organization leaders across all the disciplines and programs to drive operational execution and lead further implementation of our Lean strategy.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Work across the organization to develop and lead the Operations and Lean strategy for the D&S ATO Mechanical section, with responsibilities including:

  • Develop and implement organization operation standard work.
  • Establish and lead Weekly Operating Reviews (WOR), and Monthly Operating Reviews (MOR)
  • Support team in the use of PSRs, value stream mapping, and other lean tools to identify/eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Own and maintain the organization’s budget, including program funding, CFD, and overhead expenses.
  • Own and facilitate updates to the organization’s Strategic Workforce Plan
  • Partner with Defense & Systems Engineering operations leaders to ensure business needs are being appropriately communicated and prioritized.
  • Partner with the organizations staff members to drive accountability for achieving KPI targets and other business metrics.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Department of Defense Security Clearance
  • Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Engineering or technical discipline
