Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Hub Operations Specialist impacts PSA Airlines safety of its customers and employees by managing the coordination of personnel on shift to ensure that all maintenance is properly executed, the aircraft is prepared and ready for release and the Operations Control Center (OCC) is aware of the aircraft status.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures a safe and compliant work environment by complying with Safety Policy and Procedures Manual and General Maintenance Manual policies and procedures as well as ensuring compliance of subordinates
  • Prepare and present written reports to Maintenance Operations Control Duty Manager and collaborate with local Maintenance Manager for local station Delays, Cancellations, and Irregularities
  • Optimize operational processes and procedure for maximum efficiency while maintaining quality standards
  • Account for performance of the responsible mechanic to properly execute all necessary work records
  • Manage all operation planning to assure that the proper work is performed on the aircraft as scheduled
  • Responsible to coordinate efforts between Maintenance Control, Production Planning, and other departments
  • Provide management support and assist with decision making on matters requiring instruction or decision from higher authority than that of the persons performing the work
  • Lead and consult teams performing maintenance, preventive maintenance, alterations or other functions affecting aircraft airworthiness
  • Assign tasks and collect status updates from the vendor Lead Mechanic / Supervision.
  • Oversee relationship with the Stores Department for the current status of AOG parts in progress for local aircraft requiring repairs
  • Provide regular and timely updates to the OCC of local aircraft undergoing maintenance
  • Prepare data on maintenance discrepancies and corrections of aircraft with assigned flights, monitoring mechanical problems in the assigned station line and extending every effort to reduce and hold maintenance recovery time to the very minimum
  • Escalate maintenance discrepancy clearing actions to Maintenance Operations Control as directed by the Maintenance Operations Control Duty Manager
  • Responsible for the Companys Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Position Specifics

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certification
  • Minimum of 3 years of technical and management experience within a 49CFR Part 121 Airline operation
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office programs
  • Detail-oriented professional with experience managing workflow processes
  • Ability to speak/read/write in English
  • If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the US

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation related field or equivalent experience
  • Prior leadership experience or skills in leading and directing team members
