Responsibilities

Position Summary

Designs and develops curriculum content, training materials, training modules, teaching aids, and coordinates all aspects of curriculum development to include, but not limited to aircraft technical skills, safety, Human Factors, and new technology in aviation systems and maintenance. This individual will develop written, instructor led, self-paced, computer based, and other types of curriculum to be used by training facilitators, instructors, and training participants. This individual is expected to work with Maintenance Training Department personnel, Management, other departments, and external business partners to elicit their expertise and input to ensure accuracy and standardization of all training materials and content. This individual will be expected to deliver accurate, high-quality curriculum within a specified timeline and will work with multiple types of content including web-based media. The Instructional Developer will utilize adult learning principles to develop instructional materials. This individual will be the focal for online Learning Management System (LMS) functions for the Maintenance Training Department.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate multiple program development projects simultaneously by prioritizing project timelines.
  • Communicate and work with collaboratively the Maintenance Training Manager, and across functional areas to coordinate and ensure successful implementation of curriculum development and revision projects.
  • Integrate Continued Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS) and Reliability data into initial and recurrent training.
  • Create and maintain setup documentation for compliance purposes for all programs. This includes program binders, syllabi, textbooks, etc.
  • Develop and review proposed project efforts to determine scope, key milestones, and timeframe.
  • Develop and formalize a quality assurance review process of all existing and new training programs.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of all maintenance training curriculums/programs in order to evaluate and update existing courses for content to match GMM, Safety, and other manuals, policies and procedures.
  • Establish a process to review and include feedback from end of course surveys, and student evaluations into the quality assurance and course maintenance processes.
  • Ensure that any problems are addressed, escalated when needed, and resolved quickly.
  • Responsible for the Companys Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Specifics

Qualifications

Required

  • Degree in Curriculum Development, Education, Organizational Development or business required.
  • 5 years minimum verifiable work experience in the aircraft maintenance/aviation field.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in applying adult learning principles and concepts.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current instructional theories and principles applicable to both online and instructor-led learning programs.
  • Bachelors Degree or Equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in applying adult learning principles and concepts.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current instructional theories and principles applicable to both online and instructor-led learning programs.
  • Experience developing creative and engaging training materials for an adult audience, in a variety of formats and media.
  • Experience with multimedia and web design technologies.
  • Advanced to intermediate computer experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Good organization skills and time management skills; ability to be flexible and solve problems.
  • Ability to speak/read/write in English.
  • If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Working knowledge of Adobe Captivate, Premier, and Pro and 5 years of relevant work experience (in similar field and/or industry).
  • Skilled use of Articulate Storyline.

Delegation: In absence, responsibilities delegated to Manager of Development.
