Position Overview:

AIS is seeking a Lead Maintenance Supervisor to oversee a skilled team of A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) Mechanics in our Denton, TX, maintenance shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and leading daily operations, ensuring timely and efficient completion of all maintenance activities, and upholding the highest standards of safety and quality. The Lead Maintenance Supervisor will work closely with management and other team leads to ensure that maintenance events are completed on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Supervision: Supervise a team of A&P mechanics, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high performance and compliance with all safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Schedule Management: Oversee the scheduling of maintenance activities, ensuring that jobs are completed on time and that any delays or issues are promptly addressed.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Ensure that all maintenance work is performed accurately, safely, and in compliance with FAA regulations and company policies. This includes routine inspections, repairs, troubleshooting, and modifications of various types of aircraft.
  • Quality Assurance: Review completed work for quality assurance, ensuring all tasks meet the necessary standards and that all aircraft are delivered back to clients in optimal condition.
  • Communication: Serve as a point of contact between mechanics, management, and clients, ensuring clear and timely communication regarding project status, timelines, and any potential challenges.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that all team members follow proper safety protocols and that the maintenance facility remains a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and help implement best practices to enhance the efficiency of the team and the quality of maintenance services.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience as an A&P mechanic, with a strong background in corporate jet and turboprop aircraft maintenance.
  • Leadership: Proven experience in a supervisory or lead role, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of technicians.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting techniques for corporate jets and turboprop aircraft.
  • Certifications: Valid A&P license required. Additional certifications (e.g., IA) are a plus.
  • Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with the ability to quickly assess and resolve maintenance issues.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and clients.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced maintenance environment with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Familiarity with aircraft avionics and instruments is a plus.
  • Prior experience with FAA inspections, audits, and compliance management.
