Hours - 11pm-7am regular shift hours
Perform all maintenance duties necessary to the efficient operation of all equipment in the plant. Repair and maintain plant equipment in accordance with blueprints and building codes.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Exhibit mechanical comprehension by having performed specific maintenance duties full time for a period of three years
- Perform all duties of a general maintenance mechanic
- Repair and maintenance existing plant equipment
- Installation of new plant equipment
- Problem solving and troubleshooting plant equipment
- Provide assistance to Production on specific equipment problems and make recommendations where necessary
- Technical training experience and/or training in repairs and maintenance of equipment
- Utilize correct safety practices while performing all duties
- Use proper lock out/tag out procedures
- Investigate and perform remedial changes to equipment exhibiting recurrent failures
- Demonstrate mechanical shop skills
- Know the function and maintenance requirements of plant equipment
- Advise Engineering and Maintenance Manager on potential equipment trouble and corrective actions necessary
- Communicate with coworkers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities
Marginal/less Essential Job Functions:
- Continue to keep current in skills through training, classes and on the job training
- Arrange scheduling of equipment repairs with supervision
- Requisition needed repair parts
- Maintain spare parts stock organization
- Maintain plant equipment history log
- Provide repairs at lowest cost consistent with good maintenance practices
Working Conditions
The employee is subject to:
- High noise levels from operating machines
- Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts
- Breathing fumes, dust and mist
- Skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids
The employee may be asked to follow other job related instructions and to perform other job related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Experience:
Between two and three years of trade school, vocational education, three year’s work experience, or apprenticeship
Physical Demands:
The employee is required to:
- Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor
- Exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
- Exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently
- Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Visual acuity:
Near acuity (16/20 where required) and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, drawings and precision measuring instruments used in the manufacturing of parts
Hearing ability:
Distinguish audible communication and equipment sounds
