Job Title: Maintenance Training Instructor Developer
Department: MX Training
Reports To: Manager of MX Training
POSITION PURPOSE: Design, develop, and instruct training courses whether instructor lead, computer based, web based, or virtual, in the following subject/topic areas: General Topics, Safety and OSHA related subjects, Company Policies & Procedures, Airframe, Powerplant and Avionics Systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Design and develop training courses using the standardized course development process.
Design and develop online learning modules and interactive learning games.
Document and revise courses per the standardized documentation process.
Ensure the training course materials are available, current, and updated.
Ensure computerized training data (presentations, student handouts, etc...) are most current and organized per the department standard, and available when needed for class.
Write instructional materials to meet objectives, including interactive courseware, instructor and student materials, training aids, handouts for classroom and hands-on training sessions, application exercises, presentation materials, and other training support tools and documentation.
Keep the immediate supervisor well-informed of activities, results of efforts, problems identified/potential problems, etc.; recommend corrective actions.
Analyze story boards to conceptualize and interpret instructional media needs and request and produce instructional media elements.
Collaborate with other Instructor/Developers in the planning and completion of instructional media elements for individual program courses.
Identify areas of weakness in instructional media or media development process and recommend strategies for improvement.
Develop, test, and maintain traditional and computer-based media, including photos, graphics, audio, videos, digital storage, etc. in databases.
Coordinate multiple projects, including producing high quality work under tight deadlines.
Remain current with and have a thorough understanding of the latest industry technology tools and trends in online education, computer/web based training creation and delivery, and other instructional media.
Categorize and organize training reference documentation and digitize current or often used materials.
Facilitate classroom training when necessary.
Provide feedback to Training Systems Administrators to help ensure the training course materials are current and updated.
Be fully prepared (course materials, dress, etc...) to teach all assigned/scheduled classes.
Utilize a variety of training methodologies for presentation and delivery.
Maintain a thorough working knowledge of and adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations.
Submit student evaluations, attendance forms, tracking and information forms, informal assessments, and other required student related documents for 100 of assigned students in accordance with directed timeline requirements.
Complete and submit 100 of staff-related forms (time sheets, professional development forms, materials/supplies tracking forms, expense reports, and other required staff related documents) in accordance with directed timeline requirements.
Respect confidentiality in discussing staff, students, and company matters. Maintain confidentiality of personnel related information.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent education
Airframe and or Powerplant mechanics certification is preferred but not required.
Prior Aviation training background is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of appropriate software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and report-writing skills
LANGUAGE SKILLS
The ability to read, write and understand English. Strong ability to have attention to detail.
