Avionics Technician

Westwind Helicopters has an immediate opening for an experienced Avionics Technician. Job Requirements:

• Must read and learn the procedures of company General Maintenance Manual, the Operations Specifications, the General Operations Manual, and the provisions of 14 CFR 135, and other applicable regulations necessary for the performance of his duties
• Knowledge of Garmin, Bendix King, and Collins systems along with experience with Honeywell auto-pilot
• A broad overall knowledge of basic aircraft systems such as hydraulics, flight controls, electrical systems, powerplant, pitot and static etc.
• Ability to accurately interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, system schematics, drawings, engineering orders and other documents from both the customer and company.  Experience with systems installations
• Fabricate per drawings and standard practices wire bundles and assemblies to include properly securing wires into bundles and termination of wires into a variety of contacts and connectors
• Strong sense of urgency and willingness to learn
• Experience in troubleshooting and problem solving
• FCC License preferred but not required
• A&P License preferred, but not required
• IA is a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Must have the ability to sit, walk, climb, and lift up to 30 pounds
• Ability to work in small spaces, extreme temperatures, heights above six feet, and noise of an airport
• Most maintenance is performed in a hangar but there will be times when the work needed will be performed on the ramp
