Job Summary: PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled NDI Technician to be part of our dynamic team in Kinston, NC. As an NDI Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity and safety of aerospace components by using cutting-edge non-destructive inspection (NDI) methods. This full-time, six-month consultant position offers an exciting opportunity to impact the aerospace industry while working with innovative technologies. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform non-destructive inspections (NDI) using techniques like liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, thermography, shearography, eddy current, ultrasonic, and radiography to evaluate material properties, components, and systems.
- Set up and standardize NDI equipment, process parts, and evaluate them for acceptance or rejection based on customer engineering requirements.
- Conduct system performance checks in compliance with applicable process standards, ensuring all inspections meet regulatory guidelines.
- Interpret and evaluate codes, standards, and other contractual documents related to NDT methods.
- Provide supervision, training, and certification of trainees to maintain a high level of expertise within the team.
- Perform audit surveillance on non-destructive inspection processes, documenting any non-conformances as per specifications and procedures.
- Take technical responsibility for the NDT facility, equipment, and staff, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance.
- Prepare and approve procedures and work instructions for technical adequacy.
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
- Proven experience with various NDI methods (liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, thermography, shearography, eddy current, ultrasonic, radiography).
- Ability to set up, calibrate, and operate NDI equipment with precision.
- Strong understanding of codes, standards, and contractual documents that control NDT methods.
- Near visual acuity (Jaeger 1 at not less than 12"), and normal Ishihara color perception (a pass test is required at the beginning of the assignment).
- Ability to perform system performance checks and process audits.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to train, supervise, and mentor staff.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience working in aerospace or similar high-precision industries.
- Certification in NDI or related non-destructive testing methods.
- Experience with audit surveillance and non-conformance documentation.

Pay Details: $61.63 per hour
