Job Title: Non Destructive Testing (NDT) TechnicianPay Rate: $30.00 an hour
Shift: 1st Shift, Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM with overtime available.
Job Description:
NDT Technicians will perform NDT service for airlines, overhaul facilities, hot section shops, parts distributors, owner/operators, etc. Primarily will be working on Pratt & Whitney Canada PW100, PT6 or JT15D engine parts for hot section component repair and overhaul. Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Utilize a fluorescent dye to detect surface defects in aircraft components, mostly turbines.
- Applying dye: Apply a fluorescent dye to the surface of a material and let it soak in for up to 30 minutes
- Cleaning: Clean the surface of the material before applying the dye to remove any contaminants like oil, dirt, or paint
- Inspecting: Examine the material under a black light or fluorescent light to look for defects.
- Recording: Document the inspection results, including any defects found.
- Reporting: Report any damage or discrepancies to the appropriate person.
- Training: Train other employees on how to perform the job.
- Setting up equipment: Set up and calibrate the equipment used for the inspection.
- Following procedures: Follow specific operating procedures and work instructions
- Interpreting results: Interpret and evaluate the test results.
Requirements:
- Level II Certificate - Fluorescent Penetrant (FPI)
- Level II Certificate - X-Ray
- Blueprint reading experience
- Aerospace expereince is a plus
