We are seeking a skilled NDT Technician/Inspector to support maintenance and overhaul activities in an aircraft wheel repair shop. This role involves working with General Aviation and corporate turboprop aircraft, including KingAir, Cessnas, and other PT6 powered aircraft. The position is based at a full-service FBO with GA maintenance capabilities and a wheel overhaul shop.

Responsibilities

• Review test orders to determine the type of test requested, test procedures to follow, and part acceptability criteria.
• Determine test equipment settings according to the type of metal, thickness, distance from test equipment, and related variables, using standard formulas.
• Calibrate test equipment such as magnetic particle, x-ray, and ultrasonic contact machines to standard settings, following manual instructions.
• Set up equipment to perform tests and conduct tests on parts, following procedures established for specified tests performed.
• Examine surface-treated materials during penetrant and magnetic particle tests to locate and identify cracks or other defects, using black light.
• Evaluate test results against designated standards, utilizing knowledge of metals and testing experience.
• Prepare reports outlining findings and conclusions.

• NDT Level II certification
• Experience with Cessna and KingAir aircraft
• Avionics repair and troubleshooting
• Blueprint reading and electrical knowledge
• Experience in NDT inspection, ultrasonic testing, and quality control
• Skills in penetration tests and nondestructive testing

• Certification in at least three NDT methods (more methods preferred)
• Eligibility for SIDA badge with required paperwork on hand (valid US birth certificate or passport, plus valid drivers license)

Work Environment

The wheel shop is located adjacent to aircraft hangars at an FBO at the Bend, OR municipal airport. The position operates during the day shift from Monday to Friday.

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
