Dassault Falcon Jet is building a state-of-the-art flagship Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility at the Melbourne Orlando International Airport (KMLB) in Melbourne, Florida. Dassault Falcon Jet will serve customers across North and South America and beyond, the complex will accommodate all current Falcon models, (including the new, ultra-long-range Falcon 10X, the largest purpose-built business jet), and will be capable of performing major maintenance and modifications on up to 18 Falcon models.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
- The Quality Assurance Manager will have a working knowledge of and be the local authority of all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and the Repair Station / Quality Control Manual
- Ensures compliance with all elements of 14 CFR Part 145
- Plans, organizes, staffs, controls, and directs the Quality Assurance department
- Promotes aviation safety by ensuring airworthy and quality aircraft maintenance
- Develops and maintains the FAA Repair Station Manual and Quality Control Manual
- Develops and administers FAA Parts Manufacturing Approval (if applicable)
- Interprets Federal Aviation Regulations into company policy/procedure
- Administers the companys quality systems
- Administers the Internal Quality Audit Program
- Coordinates with Department Managers and the Training Program Coordinator for the requirements of the Repair Station Training Program and maintains the technicians training records
- Administers the Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic equipment calibration program
- Manages the Repair Stations record keeping requirements
- Ensures that all technical data is current
- Controls the issue of inspectors stamps and manages the Repair Station rosters
- Recommends, as required, individuals for repairmans certificate
- Communicates company and department managers goals and objectives to his/her staff, and communicates the staffs suggestions and concerns as appropriate
- May travel to customer locations to establish and / or maintain good working relations including dispute resolution
- Observes company rules and regulations, including housekeeping and proper use of safety methods and the safe operation of proper equipment
- Prepares department budget for fiscal year operations
- Develops strategic plans for the continuous improvement of quality
- Stays current with industry trends and innovations
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the General Manager.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- College course work in Business, Aviation, Engineering or related field
- 7 years experience in a Quality supervision / management role in a business aircraft MRO / FAA Repair Station environment with oversight of 10+ employees
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
- Working Knowledge of FAA and Federal Aviation Regulations pertaining to maintenance programs and procedures
- Computer skills necessary to learn and/or operate word processing, spreadsheet, database, email, and web-based applications
- Previous experience in ISO-certified environment
- Previous experience with the FAA Flight Standards District Office
- Working knowledge of process improvement methodology and application (e.g., Six Sigma)
- Working knowledge of accounting and budgeting principals necessary to read and interpret profit/loss statements, financial reports, and meet financial objectives for assigned area and programs
- Working knowledge of current trends and best practices within Quality field
- Thorough knowledge of all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals, departments, organizations, and regulatory agencies
- Business writing skills necessary to create various reports and correspondence
- Presentation skills necessary to effectively communicate, update, persuade, and/or facilitate discussions with all levels of management
- Planning and organizational skills necessary to prioritize, assign and coordinate workload of assigned area and employees with a multiple project setting
