Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting and ensuring the quality of aircraft maintenance work performed at our Repair Station. This role involves reviewing flight logs, conducting primary inspections, and performing internal and external audits. The Quality Inspector will also be responsible for maintaining compliance with company policies and ensuring a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review incoming aircraft maintenance flight logs for required work.
  • Perform primary inspections on the aircraft.
  • Procure necessary forms and work orders, and transfer tasks to appropriate forms.
  • Surveillance of all work in progress.
  • Accept or reject work accomplished based on work orders.
  • Conduct internal audits as requested.
  • Ensure accurate entries in aircraft maintenance flight logs and airworthiness release.
  • Inspect for proper installation, security, safety, and workmanship.
  • Perform pressure checks if necessary.
  • Ensure proper materials and fasteners are used.
  • Check for conformance to specifications according to repair, maintenance, or other relevant manuals or FAA-approved engineering instructions.
  • Perform internal and external audits.
  • Carry out receiving inspection duties.
  • Inspect work during progress and upon completion prior to aircraft release.
  • Assist in developing processes and procedures.
  • Coordinate with various departments to schedule workflow based on available resources.
  • Support Component Shop and MRO tooling design.
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of inspection experience on aircraft.
  • A&P license.
  • FAA Part 145 experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Ability to make independent decisions with little or no supervision.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • AS9100 or AS9110 certification (nice to have).
  • Experience with turbo prop and/or fixed wing aircraft (strongly preferred).
  • Experience inspecting avionics and avionics modifications (strongly preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret precision measurement equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding technical manuals and information.

Work Environment

The work environment includes both hangar and office settings. Employees must maintain a neat and clean workspace and follow documented procedures and standards. Regular attendance is required as outlined in company policy. The role involves occasional travel and the ability to make independent decisions with minimal supervision. Physical requirements include walking, standing for extended periods, reaching overhead, squatting, bending, standing, and climbing ladders occasionally. Clear vision (20/20 with or without corrective lenses) and hearing (with or without hearing aids) are necessary for this role.

This is a Contract position based out of Mobile, Alabama.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
