Responsible NDT Lvl III
This position reports to the Quality Manager and performs the following Responsible NDT Level III functions.
Provide expert judgment and analysis for the development and implementation of NDT processes, plans and procedures. Design methods to improve efficiency in production, reduce process variability and assure compliance with approved methods and quality standards. Effective decisions will typically result in successful part programs and considerable financial benefit to the company.
Based on their independent judgment and within the scope of their expertise, position is vested with the authority to stop the manufacturing process.
Responsible NDT LEVEL III
This position will be tasked with qualification and certification of NDT personnel to NAS 410, auditing NDT systems at their assigned facility and evaluation and compliance of all NDT processes and systems. They are to be competent to act as a technical liaison representing PCC as a prime technical contact.
Job Responsibilities
Prepare and verify work instructions for NDT methods to be compliant to customer specification and requirements. Have a thorough knowledge of written instructions, codes, specifications, and standards used. Have a thorough knowledge of the materials, components, product technologies, NDT methods and NDT techniques used.
Train, test and certify NDT inspectors in the method(s) and techniques certified per the latest revision of PCC’s Quality Control procedures. Maintain overall control and cognizance over the NDT Training program, including designation or approving qualified Examiners, Instructors and outside agencies.
Analyze and interpret inspection quality data, conduct research on product defects, and recommend modification in products or quality standards, where warranted.
Serve as a liaison with customers and regulatory bodies.
Provide guidance and expertise to sales, engineering, and manufacturing on NDT issues with regards to customer inquiries.
Assist in the development of new NDT process and procedures with regards to new technology and cost reduction opportunities, and customer approval of that technology.
Ensure compliance with customer and government regulations as pertaining to the inspection departments, including ability to interpret codes standards and other contractual documents. Maintain full NADCAP and customer approvals.
Maintain all aspects of the NDT inspection program, including but not limited to: vision exams, X-ray film silver recovery, calibration of NDT equipment, internal audits, and maintenance.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
-Requires a BS degree in engineering with 5-8 years relevant experience, or a MS degree in engineering with 3-4 years relevant experience OR equivalent experience.
- Broad knowledge of mechanical, industrial, materials science engineering along with investment casting technology.
-Knowledge and demonstrated ability in engineering principles and disciplines; employed manufacturing processes; statistical analysis (data correlation); technical report and article preparation; preparing specifications; ability to define, plan, and complete major projects; ability to supervise/direct activities of professionals with diverse expertise.
-Experience using Computer Aided Design, Statistical programs, Excel, Solid view, Unigraphics or Catia skills is preferred.
