Your responsibilities
Development of new mechanical products:
- Actively Coloborate with the project teams to develop new sensing and monitoring products
- Design, model, calculate, sketch new mechanical products or adapt existing ones and validate and verify developed products
- Develop technical optimal solutions taking into account quality, cost and delivery, within the respect of the applicable standards
- Establish the required documentation according to the development processes in place
- Define and control development tests, and ensure availability of test results
- Participate in Industrialization of future products according to the processes in place and define adapted production processes and materials in collaboration with process and material specialists
- Participate in internal and external reviews according to development process and customers need
- Delegate and/or outsource work to engineers, lab technicians and productions
Research and development of new sensing and monitoring technologies :
- Actively contribute to Research and Technology development work, in the field of novel sensing and monitoring solutions for aerospace and energy applications.
- Contribute to innovation and technology roadmaps by providing support to colleagues to solve technical issues and propose solutions
- Research and enable innovative solutions
Subject-Matter Expert (SME) in sensor design for harsh environment and FEA analysis domains:
- Provide technical support during development projects
- Coach and teach more junior engineers and technicians Support to production
Who we are looking for
- University Degree (Master preferably) in Engineering (mechanical or microtechnology)
- At least 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering activities preferably in the Aerospace and/or Energy sector and experienced in complying with engineering development processes, preferably in the mentioned sectors
- Extensive experience of defining, designing, developing and managing of complex mechanical product developments
- Strong practical experience in ISO tolerancing, mechanical drawings and associated manufacturing processes
- Up to date knowledge and practical understanding of development tools (mechanical and requirement management)
- Expert in numerical modeling, CAD and FEA computation
- At ease with novelty and ability to quickly learn new technical knowledge
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and active listener
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally at a global level
- Strong team player, while being able to work independently
- Out-of-the-box thinking and curiosity
- Fluent in English is essential. French is a plus
Ideally, you will also have
- Experience in sensor design, such as piezoelectric, MEMS, optical fiber, inductive
- Experience in project engineering
