Job Responsibilities
- Involved with the design, fabrication and modification of mechanical and/or electro mechanical components, sub-systems and systems. May include Mechanical Analysis, Aerodynamics/Fluids, Thermal, Fluid Systems, Mechanical Packaging, or others. Evaluate and recommend design approaches to meet production requirements for new or improved products or services. Investigate solutions to product or process problems.
- Support engineering with a variety of moderately complex engineering duties and/or hands-on tasks
- Able to work independently on a weekly basis
- Comfortable with the shop/laboratory and equipment
- Assist in design, build and/or procurement of new or improved machines, tools, fixtures and material handling equipment and coordinating the implementation
- Responsible for completing process documentation, bill of materials, route sheets, etc
- Review project instructions and drawings to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problem and possible solutions, and to support the design for manufacture
- Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified electrical and/or mechanical components or assemblies for products
- Set up and conduct tests of units and components
- Analyze test results related to the design and test objectives and adjust equipment to bring within specifications
- Record these test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or test methods
- Provide and develop documentation to maintain equipment
- May lead technician teams in development or mentor other technicians
- Provide hands-on feedback to engineers
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
- Assist in the development of plant layouts, manufacturing methods and process improvements
- May coordinate maintenance projects
- Mentor and coach less experienced technicians
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience of 9 years
- 5+ years experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment
- Competent technical expertise
