Job Title: Service Technician

Job Description: As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of various ground support vehicles and equipment, including tow tractors, baggage carts, buses, trucks, and service vans. Your duties will involve maintaining heavy equipment that encompasses hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical machinery. You will inspect ground support vehicles and equipment to identify necessary repairs, troubleshoot issues, and perform repairs as needed. Additionally, you will schedule periodic maintenance for ground support vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal working condition. Maintaining a clean and safe repair shop is crucial, as is tracking inventory of parts and tools required for repairs and maintenance. You will also be responsible for keeping detailed repair logs for all vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Repair and Service: Perform repairs and servicing on tow tractors, baggage carts, buses, trucks, and service vans.
• Maintenance: Maintain heavy equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical machinery.
• Inspection: Inspect ground support vehicles and equipment to determine the need for repairs.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with vehicles and machinery to perform necessary repairs.
• Scheduled Maintenance: Schedule and conduct periodic maintenance for ground support vehicles.
• Shop Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe repair shop environment.
• Inventory Tracking: Track inventory of parts and tools needed for repairs and maintenance.
• Repair Logs: Maintain detailed repair logs for all vehicles and equipment.

Essential Skills:

• Automotive Maintenance: Proficiency in automotive maintenance and engine repair.
• Tool Usage: Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Manual Reading: Ability to read and interpret repair manuals for various types of vehicles and equipment.
• Mechanical Skills: Strong mechanical repair skills.
• Instruction Following: Ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Experience: Experience with diesel engines, heavy equipment, hydraulics, and engine diagnostics.
• Troubleshooting: Effective troubleshooting skills.
• Preventive Maintenance: Experience with ground support equipment, engine maintenance, and preventive maintenance.
• Electrical Systems: Knowledge of electrical systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Previous related experience preferred.
• Training: On-the-job training provided.
• Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods working on vehicles; physically able to access vehicles either by kneeling or lying on back; ability to lift 50 pounds at a time.

• Outdoor Work: Must be able to work part of each day in the Colorado elements, approximately 30 of the time outdoors.
• Shift Availability:
  • 1st Shift: 6:00am-2:30pm
  • 2nd Shift: 2:00pm-10:30pm
  • 3rd Shift: 10:00pm-6:30am
• Holiday Work: Must be willing to work holidays.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.50 - $33.50/hr.
