Miscellaneous Skills: Machining: Aircraft sheet metal mechanics use machining skills to operate and maintain metalworking machines. These include lathes, milling machines and drill presses. They use these machines to cut, shape and form metal parts. Welding: Welding is the process of joining two pieces of metal together. Aircraft sheet metal mechanics use welding to repair and modify aircraft parts. They also use welding to create new parts for aircraft. Fabrication: Fabrication is the process of creating something from scratch. Aircraft sheet metal mechanics use fabrication skills to create tools and parts for aircraft. They also use fabrication skills to repair and modify existing parts. Inspection: Aircraft sheet metal mechanics use inspection skills to assess the condition of aircraft parts and determine if they need repair. They also use inspection skills to ensure that the aircraft parts they install are working properly. This involves testing the parts and monitoring their performanc
