Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Simulator Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing flight simulators and associated systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with simulator systems, a strong technical background, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our simulation equipment.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, the Simulator Technician III will be expected to:

  • Conduct preventive maintenance on simulators and related systems.

  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving issues with simulators and associated systems.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems on simulators and their systems.

  • Follow CAEs quality management system and use the maintenance management system to document and track maintenance activities.

  • Train technicians in basic skills and provide advanced technical training.

  • Complete all required training and actively seek further professional development.

  • Perform pre-flight and post-flight checks on all simulators.

  • Execute visual alignments.

  • Conduct and evaluate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Approval Test Guide (ATG) and Qualification Test Guide (QTG) tests.

  • Support the Engineering Team with modifications, design changes, and software improvements.

  • Manage logistics tasks, including receiving parts, repair, and testing/validation.

Qualifications

  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent relevant training.

  • At least 5 years of direct simulator experience, with a minimum of 3 years in simulator operations.

  • Proficiency with various test equipment and software diagnostics/utilities for at least one type of simulator.

  • Strong troubleshooting abilities.

  • Capable of conducting detailed analysis and research for hardware modifications and upgrades.

  • Proven expertise in at least one major simulator system (e.g., motion, visual, aircraft systems).

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.

  • Fluent in English.
