Structural Mechanic I

Key Responsibilities:
Perform precise assembly and fitting of detail parts and structural components
Use a variety of tools (e.g. pneumatic guns, drills, riveting guns) to rivet structural assemblies
Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, sketches, and operation sheets to determine assembly sequence
Ensure all parts meet required standards before final inspection
Maintain accurate logs and records (MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs)
Align parts using jigs, clamps, and fasteners for accurate assembly
What You’ll Bring:
Education: High School Diploma or GED required
Experience: 1 year of related structural assembly experience (Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred)
Training Credit: One year experience credit for graduates of Savannah Tech Aircraft Structures Technical Certificate Program
Skills: Ability to read blueprints, perform basic shop math, and use a 6” scale
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work any shift, and handle tasks involving climbing ladders or working in confined spaces
Additional Duties:
Support Lean Activities and continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain a neat, orderly work area and comply with safety regulations as part of the 5S Program
Participate in maintaining shop equipment and performing other duties as assigned
Pay Details: $21.21 per hour
