Summary:
Assemble and fit parts and structures, performing drilling and riveting operations to meet FAA requirements and customer specifications.
Rivet structural assemblies using tools such as pneumatic guns, drills, and rivet shavers.
Read work orders, blueprints, and sketches to determine operations, rivet sizes, and hole patterns.
Ensure all assemblies are defect-free before final inspection.
Maintain logs and records, using resource planning systems for daily labor entries.
Align and assemble parts using jigs, fixtures, and fasteners.
Maintain a clean work area, support the 5S Program, and comply with safety regulations.
Support Lean initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
Participate in continuous improvement activities (e.g., Kaizen events).
Maintain tools and equipment as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
1 year of related structural assembly experience
Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred
1 year experience credit for graduates of Savannah Tech Aircraft Structures Technical Certificate Program
Basic knowledge of aircraft structures, sheetmetal, and fabrication processes.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and basic shop math.
Basic computer skills and ability to read a scale.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and climb ladders/stairs.
Ability to work any shift and demonstrate safety and housekeeping practices.
Must be proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
