As a Structures Mechanic, you will work on various projects, collaborating with lead hands and AMEs (Aircraft Maintenance Engineers). Your tasks will include finishing instrument panels, mounting equipment, installing and building antennas, and performing paint touch-ups on rivets. This role requires creativity and problem-solving skills, as you will often need to fabricate parts from scratch without provided drawings. Additionally, you will assist avionics mechanics with their tasks.
Responsibilities
- Go between multiple ongoing projects.
- Work with lead hands and AMEs to prioritize schedules.
- Finish instrument panels.
- Mount equipment and install/build antennas.
- Perform paint touch-ups on rivets.
- Participate in concept design conversations.
- Modify and fabricate parts from scratch.
- Assist avionics mechanics.
Essential Skills- 5+ years of structures experience in aircraft sheet metal, structure, rivet, composite, aviation, airframe, and aircraft modification.
- 3 years of avionics support experience (modifying instrument panels, components, and panel-mounted components).
- Licensed AME - S.
- 3-5 years of composite experience.
- Troubleshooting and fabrication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Nice to have paint experience.
- ACA experience.
- Ability to read drawings.
- Understanding of aircraft technical records and flight manuals.
- Ability to assist/support STC development and first article prototyping design.
- Apprentice support experience.

Work Environment
- You will work with avionics mechanics, a design team, and two other structures professionals, including a senior person and an apprentice. There may be opportunities to travel more in this position, so flexibility is a must.
- The standard work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with occasional variations. The role is busy until July, with a slowdown in the Fall, and offers long-term permanent or contract options.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
