As a Aviation Mechanic Intern you’ll have the chance to get involved in a variety of exciting projects. Here is an example of what you might be doing:
- The Mechanic Trainee will learn how to perform routine maintenance, and major inspections on turbofan-powered aircraft.
- Trouble-shooting, repair, and modification of aircraft components and engines will also be a part of this OJT program.
- Works with hand held tooling as well as OEM tooling.
- Use of Torque wrenches as well as precise measuring tools.
- Balance theory and application.
- Observes all safety, environmental and general housekeeping rules and policies.
- May perform other duties as required by the department.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S
- A prospective student must meet screening and security requirements.
- Must have basic computer knowledge.
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have proven mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Must have proven experience using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Must be able to accurately read and interpret dimensions and measurements.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time daily.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, crawl, and climb ladders in order to work on areas within the aircraft that are difficult to access.
- Must be able to think clearly and speak intelligibly on the telephone and in person.
