Position Summary Responsibilities include installation, operation, and maintenance of engineering test equipment for the development of new and derivative designs of eCFR Part 23 aircraft. Functions as a senior instrumentation technician delivering broad and relevant testing and manufacturing experience including fabrication, installation, troubleshooting, record keeping, and compliance. Plans wiring interfaces prior to install and serves as a knowledgeable guide for other technicians during the installation work. Essential Job Functions Install and wire engineering test equipment including load cells, string potentiometers, pressure transducers, thermocouples, strain gauges, cameras, and any other specialized equipment unique to engineering test on aircraft. Perform work in compliance with work orders, engineering drawings, wiring schematics, company specifications and procedures, and vendor installation manuals. Maintain aircraft records pertaining to work performed in compliance with company procedures. Maintain and troubleshoot engineering test equipment both on aircraft and in a laboratory environment. Fabricate fixtures and rigging for ground testing, including use of wood, aluminum and steel, structural wire rope, and hardware. Maintain an orderly, FOD compliant work area in accordance with company policy. Work under limited supervision; work should only be required to be reviewed for accuracy and consistency with design data. Work directly with the respective engineers to understand the test article function. Perform other related duties as required. Continuously examine the processes and systems used in this function, and make suggestions for improvement. Perform other duties as assigned.
