ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will function as a flight engineer (FE) on the CH47F helicopter. The FE will conduct pre-flight inspections, prepare the helicopter for flight, assist in troubleshooting all aircraft issues, and perform mechanic duties for rotor smoothing, airspace surveillance, fuel management, and emergency operations procedures. This job summary is not exhaustive or all inclusive. The employee will be required to perform duties outside of this summary as the mission dictates to meet the needs of Vertex Aerospace. Specific additional duties include general mechanic/maintenance work.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
The individual will be performing duties in support of all maintenance test flights (MTF) and support flights. The applicant will: have a minimum of 500 total flight hours (verifiable by military or equivalent flight records) in rotary wing aircraft, of which 150 hours must be in the CH47F helicopter (verifiable by military or equivalent flight records).
The individual must possess a current FAA Class III flight physical or Class III military flight physical (DA Form 4186 or other military equivalent).
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED and graduation certificate form an applicable service training program. A certificate from the US Army Aviation Logistics School (USAALS) from the CH47F helicopter repairer course (67/15U10) is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, extensive walking and working in areas where high noise hazards prevail. The diversity of the work conditions may range where there is little or no discomfort to working in inclement weather which may subject the individual to severe weather changes. May require lifting objects in excess of 50 lbs. and working weekends on demand, with little or no prior notification.
CERTIFICATIONS: Valid North Carolina driver's license required.
Must be able to get a Common Access Card (CAC)..
Must be able to obtain a NACI clearance.
