This hands-on position is responsible for leading the Accessory Shop team members to meet or exceed quality, productivity, safety and financial objectives and customer expectations.
Responsibilities of this position include:
 
Essential Job Functions:
1. Shop Management
               a. Meets department’s established productivity and financial goals by promoting safety, quality,                   efficiency, communication and customer satisfaction. Works with Sales personnel, Managers,                   Project Managers, Team Leaders and technicians, and others to maximize profitability of                   projects.

               b. Serves as primary department contact for internal and external customers and the FAA                   regarding Accessory Shop issues and works toward mutually beneficial resolution of issues.                   Fosters and maintains working relationships with external customers, OEM’s, vendors, etc.                    Assists with researching  and resolving customer disputes with Accessory Shop. Maintains                   visibility in industry through involvement  with OEM’s, trade associations, customer events,                   vendor events, etc.

               c. Promotes growth and development of assigned team members to encourage team                   cohesiveness and trust by monitoring and evaluating team members’ performance in a                   professional, positive, accurate and timely manner. Leads in the selection, hiring and staffing of                   team members. Recommends training needs and programs; identifies and recommends                   technical and non-technical training opportunities for team members. Participates in personal                   and leadership development opportunities and demonstrates leadership and professionalism.

               d. Develops and implements process improvements to increase efficiencies and quality, reduce                   costs, reduce downtimes/improve turn times, standardize work, reduce and eliminate warranty                   and re-work, utilize innovative technology, etc. Leads periodic review and analysis of existing                   procedures and holds team members accountable to Elliott Aviation approved policies,                   procedures and Best Practices.

               e. Creates, monitors and reviews department budget and annual strategic plans. Evaluates and                   submits requests for facilities, tooling, equipment and capital expenditures.

2. Sales and Business Development Responsibilities
               a. Cultivate long-term mutually beneficial relationships with target customers.
               b. Develop and execute a customer contact approach that allows for regular face-to-face visits                   with key accounts.
               c. Develop and execute a plan that facilitates the addition of accounts and account growth of                   businesses and customers that will use Elliott Aviation for all of their particular Accessory needs.
               d. Successfully and profitably, sell products and services by servicing existing customers and by                   developing new customers.
               e. Continually increase the level of knowledge about our customers’ needs and requirements                   while contributing to new product ideas.
               f. Maintain the prospecting database, CRM and follow-up system.
               g. Develop sales leads, follow-up on sales leads in the territory generated by marketing efforts and                   sales support and turn these leads into sales.
               h. Communicate with the Director of Marketing on any sales or support materials that may be                   needed.
               i. Professionally represent Elliott Aviation at local, regional, and national aviation trade show and                   events as required.
3. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Top candidates will possess proven leadership ability, including business acumen, caring about direct reports, directing others, listening, process management, evaluating team members, building effective teams
 
Other requirements include:
  • Airframe & Power plant Certificate or equivalent Repairman Certificate preferred.
  • Associate Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in aircraft or accessory maintenance.
  • Three years’ leadership or supervisory experience.
  • 5 years’ experience in aviation MRO sales, including the use of a CRM tool.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations
  • Entrepreneurial and business-savvy
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organization skills with solid attention to detail
