Position Summary
Position Summary:
This position reports to the Division Controller and has 2 direct reports. The Accounting Supervisor applies principles of accounting to analyze diverse and complex financial information and prepares financial reports. This role is responsible for the accuracy, integrity, control and timeliness of financial reports, analyses, systems, and processes. May specialize in specific accounting areas such as financial analysis, budgeting, and cost accounting.

- As a strategic business partner - Analyze financial statements, perform trend analysis, and assist plant operations with financial inquiries.
- Oversee plant financial statements for 2 plants
- Business partner to plant managers helping to identify opportunities to improve earnings and cashflow
- Provide timely and accurate financial information to Division Management for use in planning and forecasting, variance analysis and review, budgeting, and scenario analysis
- Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Prepares month-end journal entries and account reconciliations
- Oversee Accounts Receivable, revenue accruals, and overhead spend
- Maintains accounting controls by auditing compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting complex accounting policies and regulations.
- Actively contribute towards continuous improvement initiatives, identifying improvement opportunities and tracking performance.
- Establishes goals and objectives required to complete projects. Trains and mentors less experienced employees.
- Shares specialized knowledge with others. Represents company on high level projects. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

- May lead or be assigned to a special project team which may include cross-functional or project team responsibilities.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting
- 5-7 or more years of experience preferred
- Cost Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Proficient in Excel, Power BI, Word, Powerpoint
- Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, laws, and regulations is essential.
- Ability to effectively assess and implement continuous improvement principles and techniques.
- Ability to prepare graphs, presentations, and business correspondence.
- Ability to respond to questions from management and customers
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, team leaders, and top management.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
