The role:

Aircraft (Components) Inventory Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Aircraft (components) Inventory Manager.  In this role, you will deliver exceptional material support for all planned and operational demands through management of the rotable inventory whilst meeting quality and financial requirements.
 
Your responsibilities will cover inventory and programme management delivering both component availability as well as our extensive Technical and Cabin modification programmes across the fleet. You will deliver this performance through strong leadership of the inventory and programmes teams and world class inventory / supplier management capabilities.

What you’ll do:

• Effectively lead a team to meet the business requirements for all Rotable and T&E material requirements. Ensuring the right people are involved when making decisions and encouraging them to have their say whilst listening to their concerns.
• Manage the delivery of all aircraft programme & modification material requirements, within the approved capital budget, for but not limited to strategic aircraft modification and aircraft EIS readiness projects
• Key interface between Supply Chain and the Engineering Cabin & Technical programmes team.
• Defines and delivers Engineering’s vehicle management strategy
• Maintain the technical standards of Engineering’s tooling inventory through but not limited to the timely evaluation and adoption of OEM technical publications
• Ensure the timely PPM & Statutory tool inspections audit programmes
• Defines with the Commercial & Supply Chain Leadership Team the inventory strategy based on commercial intelligence & market activity, and ensures it is delivered.
• Maximise the effective use of contracts, and where necessary the enforcement of remedies, to drive performance improvement and behaviour change.

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

• Proven Procurement, Inventory management or supplier management experience
• Understanding of the Airline business
• Knowledge of the Aviation aftermarket
• Proven inventory management experience
• Demonstrable ability to identify root cause issues and deliver effective solutions.
• Project planning and management
• Self-motivated and a self-starter
• Coaching & interpersonal skills

Your experience:

• Degree level education or equivalent experience
• Formal business-related qualification or equivalent experience
• Proven knowledge of Engineering and its business objectives
• Demonstrated ability to set and achieve challenging performance targets
• Innovative and adaptable to the management of change
• Analysis and interpretation of data
• Ability to influence at all level of the business to deliver operational targets.
• Experience Health & Safety and Quality Systems
• Proven Leadership record
• Knowledge and Experience of IR Change Programme
• Able to demonstrate strategic awareness and deliver commercial opportunities.
