About the Role
As a Aircraft Appearance Manager, you will efficiently and profitably manage and direct Cabin Appearance & QR technical assigned department and aircraft cleaning activities during turnaround & hanger by providing a safe, quality services to Qatar Airways and other operating Airlines at Hamad International Airport and Doha International Airport.
Operational
- Accountable for management and supervision of one of the assigned sections of Airside Operations (Cabin Cleaning and Aircraft Cleaning – QR Technical) activities. Responsible for overall assigned sections of Cabin & Aircraft cleaning Operations departments’ operational, and administrational performance.
- Responsible for the health and safety of all staff engaged in Cabin & Aircraft Cleaning activities in HIA and DIA associated areas; promoting a QAS safety culture, educating and raising awareness and understanding through the most appropriate medium, ensuring adherence to QAS values and culture, and being responsible for staff morale and welfare. Investigation of any safety critical incidents, supporting both QAS and QR Group Safety in the resolution of safety deficiencies.
- Plan and organize QAS resources - manpower, equipment and facilities for ensuring effective and efficient deployment of QAS resources to meet handling requirement of QAS customer airlines.
- Research on the root cause(s) of incident(s), accident(s) and service lapse(s), develop select and Implement the solution(s) to ensure continuous improvement.
- Review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on a regular basis and adopt necessary changes for smooth operations of the assigned sections of Aircraft Appearance Operations.
- Assist the Manager Cabin Appearance to establish measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) which match with company level of services, and always provide suggestion to improve the KPIs’ indications.
- Oversee other relevant functions in conjunction with other business units of QR Group and to ensure a safe and cost effective turnaround of flights.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with these stakeholders in order to create process efficiencies within and across departments to deliver a seamless ground handling product.
- Continuously review and manage assigned section all aspects of Aircraft Appearance Operations and handling procedures to ensure that work methods and equipment / manpower levels are in line with budget guidelines and meet the business and customer requirement.
- Manage the effective and optimum utilization of Aircraft Appearance services equipment to meet operational requirements, maintaining close working relations with Engineering department to ensure on time servicing and maintenance of equipment and prompt release back into operations.
- Represent the assigned sections of Aircraft Appearance Operations as required in management / operational meetings to ensure that issues of operations, safety and security are promptly addressed, resolved and amendments made to internal service level agreements.
- Be a part of budgetary requirements for manpower and equipment resources and provide the input to Manager Cabin Appearance for review in conjunction with QAS Planning Team establishing revenue opportunities setting budget and revenue targets and controlling costs. Take measures to ensure that costs are managed and maintained as per budget.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications
About you
- Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelors level
- Minimum 7 years relevant experience
- Work experience in Ground Handling Operations
- Must possess a strong, decisive and collaborative leadership style
- Demonstrate the highest standards of integrity, equality and respect.
- Ability to effectively communicate with clear, concise and consistent messages
- Experience of leading, managing, inspiring and engaging a large multi-cultural workforce.
- Understands the value of high customer service delivered within a cost conscious culture
- Skilled at mentoring and coaching skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English
