Job Summary

This Airport Affairs Regional Manager invests in the future of Southwests People as they work to advance Southwest Airline&39;s interests through the negotiation of the business agreements at airports within respective portfolio. This role is responsible for the analysis of each airport&39;s Capital Plan and budgets, and they seek opportunities to reduce or mitigate airport costs. The Airport Affairs Regional Manager is a detail-oriented thinker, who is excited to help drive the future of Southwest Airlines.

Responsibilities
- Communicate with internal departments on airport&xfffd;s current and forecasted rates
- Coordinate with FP&A, Insurance, Legal, Internal Audit and other internal groups
- Evaluate capital project scope and delivery approach for projects Southwest Airlines will need on behalf of airports as well as negotiating business terms and agreement under the guidance of Leadership
- Develop and implement strategies for negotiating airport use and lease agreements and more complex development agreements under the guidance of Leadership
- Develop and implement strategies for reviewing and analyzing airport budgets, airport capital projects, and lease agreements, to identify and negotiate reductions in them under the guidance of Leadership
- Lead and/or Attend Airline/Airport Affairs Committee Meetings
- Maintain records and perform analysis
- Negotiate airport agreements for all airport support buildings and off airport real estate
- Serve as the Corporate liaison to airport/facility landlord within respective portfolio
- Work closely with commercial and operational departments to ensure adequate space is available to meet the plan
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee&xfffd;s Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of real estate assets
- Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process
- Knowledge of financial analysis and modeling including knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data
- Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
- Skilled in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation
- Skilled in translating detailed information into high-level overview.
- Ability to shift back and forth between two or more activities or sources of information (such as speech, sounds, touch, or other sources)
- Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience
- Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in:
- Relationship management or consulting with an emphasis on critical thinking & analysis
- Preferred: Experience with Excel, Word, Power point, Tririga, Quickbase
- Preferred: Phenomenal writing skills for memo writing. Ability to present to high level leadership and storytelling skills.

- Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from limited space workstation/desk/office area for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
- Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay & Benefits:
- Competitive market salary from $116,350 per year to $129,300 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
