About the Role:
Wing is looking for an Airworthiness and Regulatory Affairs Manager to join our Global Regulatory Team. This role is based in Palo Alto, CA. You will be responsible for supporting the Wing’s Global Regulatory team in ensuring the safety, airworthiness and compliance of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals to support Wing’s business objectives. This will include working with the product and engineering teams to help translate regulatory requirements into product requirements to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Ideal candidates have a passion for aviation and technology and are eager to learn and search for solutions in a dynamic and constantly evolving environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Leading the preparation of aviation regulatory submissions to secure approvals internationally
- Facilitating communication and collaboration with regulatory bodies while proactively developing alternative approaches supporting innovative approaches.
- Taking ownership in translating regulatory requirements into product requirements to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
- Serving as a regulatory subject matter expert to various internal teams
- Proactively staying up-to-date with evolving regulations and proposing adaptation of business practices accordingly.
- Collaborate with Wing’s policy team to help develop and shape regulatory roadmaps and implementation plans.
- Represent Wing’s regulatory team position in international forums, including Standards Development Organizations.
What You’ll Need:
- 5+ years of experience in Aviation System Engineering, aerodynamics or flight mechanics
- 8+ years of experience working on or supporting UAS regulatory topics with at least 5 years interfacing aviation regulatory agencies in Europe (EU & UK) and in the US
- Bachelor Degree in engineering or a related field, or relevant technical experience
- Strong analytical skills and attention to details
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Startup mentality, resourceful and resilient with the ability to get things done in dynamic and ambiguous circumstances
- Demonstrated ability to understand the business implications of regulatory activities
The US base salary range for this full-time position is the salary range below + bonus + equity + benefits. Wing’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.
Salary Range
$140,000—$230,000 USD
