Role Introduction
Reports to: Passenger Sales Accounting Manager
The Assistant Passenger Sales Accounting Manager sits under the Customer Travel Team in the Financial Services Department, mainly responsible for acting as an assistant to the Passenger Sales Accounting Manager to support Cathay’s sales initiatives and payment strategies. The Assistant Passenger Sales Accounting Manager will also be responsible for supporting passenger commercial departments for sales initiatives and accounting related processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with departments, outports, business units and external parties (e.g. payment services providers and acquirers) for effective and efficient accounting processes and procedures
- Support passenger commercial departments for their sales initiatives (e.g. NDC, Centralized Payment Platform and Multi-Currency Pricing, introduction of new Form of payment / Payment Gateway / Acquirer etc)
- Participate in enablement for setting up various payment options across the Company’s omni-channels to support evolving payment strategies from a finance partnership perspective
- Work with a remote shared services team to manage credit card chargeback from global/local acquiring banks and preparation of monthly fraud report
- Provide management with sales reports and related analysis for management decisions and other statutory purposes
- Conduct monthly credit card commission reconciliation and provide insights
- Monitor monthly closing and support in interim and annual closing for passenger sales related matters
- Review current working procedures for continuous improvement
- Plan and implement system enhancements, staff development and training to meet companys operational needs
- Perform ad hoc assignments as and when required
Requirements
- Degree holder in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines with professional
designation in Accountancy - Minimum 5 years relevant experience of which 2 years experience in supervisory role. Audit experience with recognized audit firms preferred
- Experience in working in the airline and/or travel industry is a definite plus
- Strong appetite to learn, with an ability & desire to understand the underlying commercial aspects of the relevant business units
- Strong analytical mind and interpersonal skills
- Strong skills in MS Office applications, especially in Excel
- Experience in using SAP advantageous
- Good command of spoken and written English and Cantonese/Chinese
- Able to work under pressure and being flexible when necessary to meet deadlines
- Willing to challenge the status quo and improve work processes
