Join our client, a prominent leader in the aviation industry, renowned for its dedication to safety and regulatory compliance. As the Assistant Director of Heavy Maintenance, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and guiding the essential operations of aircraft heavy maintenance, ensuring excellence in safety, quality, and efficiency. This position offers the opportunity to lead strategic initiatives, work alongside senior management, and make significant contributions to our clients mission of maintaining high standards and advancing aviation maintenance practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote Safety & Compliance: Collaborate with senior management to drive safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead Negotiations: Facilitate and negotiate contracts with Heavy Maintenance Essential Maintenance Service Providers (EMPs).
  • Supervise Staff: Ensure training, policy compliance, and optimal staff performance.
  • Manage Maintenance Schedules: Work with the Director of Maintenance Planning to maintain heavy maintenance schedules.
  • Approve Work & Orders: Issue HMV Statements of Work and Purchase Orders; archive maintenance records.
  • Liaison Role: Act as the primary contact between the company and heavy maintenance providers.
  • Monitor Inventory: Oversee inventory at EMP facilities and track company assets.
  • Audit & Corrective Actions: Develop corrective strategies from audits and align with senior leadership.
  • Budget Management: Assist in budgeting for heavy maintenance and control costs within limits.
  • Policy Improvement: Recommend enhancements to maintenance and engineering processes.
  • Lead On-Site: Manage on-site HMV representatives and maintain a strong company presence.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; advanced technical degree preferred.
  • Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification.
  • 5+ years of large aircraft maintenance experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and budget management.
  • Experience with "Maintenix" and "AMES" software, service contracts, and program management.
  • Strong English communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
